Dr. Feeney is a really great guy. He makes all of the material very easy to understand and the tests aren't too hard. He's very passionate of his field of study and certainly knows what he's talking about. The only problem I have with him is he sometimes talks to his classes like they're stupid and it's a little bit irritating. In all, he's a really nice guy and certainly makes rocks interesting and enjoyable.

Dr. Feeney takes his Geology class very seriously and makes it fun at the same time. The man SERIOUSLY cares about rocks and also about young people, occasionally giving "pep talks" about how to improve your life. He makes rocks interesting and I owe a great deal to him for a class that literally impacted my life. He made earthquakes real (with chalk and pencils) and made frost action and subcrustal convection parts of my regular vocabulary. I highly recommend taking Dr. Feeney. He taught one of the best classes I've had at college in my four years here. I only have one issue with him, and that is that he had never heard of "the Feeney call" from Boy Meets World. I forgive him this one transgression, and I assure you that it is one you can overlook if you take his class :)

Feeney is a great guy. He's a very easy going teacher and his classes are pretty easy as well. It is mostly notes and paying attention. But he at least keeps you interested in the subject. He thoroughly wants his class to do well and tries to help you understand it in any way he can. His exams are never cumulative so that was a big plus.. just had a certain section of notes and labs to look over and thats all. The labs weren't too bad either and you could almost always do them in class. I'd def. suggest taking Professor Feeney for Geo. P.S. - for those of you who liked boy meets world... it is tough having a teacher named feeney.. I always wanted to do the feeny call! hehe.. anyways.. take this guy.. he's great.

Feeney was an awesome prof! He is always willing to answer your questions if you don't understand. He does repeat himself, but only to drive that point into your head (because it'll be on the quizzes or tests). The labs are easy and if you ask questions, he'll do everything but give you the answer. He also gives you time in class to complete them. As long as you don't mind actually paying attention in class, reading/skimming over the chapters, and looking over your notes before an exam...you'll do great. TAKE FEENEY!!!

No one should have anything genuinely negative to say about this professor. He's easygoing and is willing to help you if your having trouble. The only bad part in the class is indentifying rocks and minerals correctly, but you can't badmouth him for it because it's most likely a requirement for the class. Overall, good professor.

Feeney's class is great. I'm not interested in geology but it was a gen. ed. I had to take and I'm glad it was this class. No homework, tests are easy, and the labs are really easy. He's easy to talk to and very understanding, and his class is easy to follow.

Feeney was really easy for intro to geology I thought. Grade consisted of 3 tests, 2 quizzes, 6 labs and attendance. The quizzes were cake and the labs were pretty easy too. Each test had 3-5 questions that were kinda off the wall but overall they were easy. Tests were mostly multiple choice with a few T/F. Feeney spent a long time on each piece of material we talked about, I find it hard to believe that people would have problems understanding the material. He was always helpful when I had questions. My only problem with him is that if you want to see what you got wrong on your test you have to go talk to him after class or during his office hours. He never went over the tests in class. Overall I would highly recommend him.

Feeney is a great professor. His class material for this course is relatively easy and simple to understand. Most of the course material is recurring throughout the course so you can't really forget anything. Feeney is very flexible and understanding as far as due dates and missed classes. He also ties all of the subject matter together with examples from current events, which helps a lot because all of this information is applicable to daily life unlike some other gen eds. My only major concern is that the course is largely lecture-only, minus the few labs.

Easy course. Didn't really use the book (only a few pages the first week or two of class). Some outside class work required. This was a grad-level course, but didn't really cover that much info. Prof has experience in the Geo field, and tried to make the subject interesting. I would take him again.

I wish the finance professors at Ship were as good as Dr. Feeney. He's the best! Exams come right from his lectures, which he makes easy for even non-science majors to understand. His quizzes he gives the class or two before the test are given to make you study hard for the test. Dr. Feeney is just an all-around cool rocks guy. Take him for this class and no one else.

Feeney is great. His classes are so easy. You take 3 tests and the last one is your final. There are 2 quizes which are easy and about 5 or 6 labs that are 10 points and you get all the points on them. Everything is explained crystal clear and if not, then you can ask all the questions you want before he moves on. This class is cake and most of the stuff you learn is what you have learned in 3rd and 4th grade about volcanoes and , earthquakes, tectonic plates and rocks!! Take him!!

Feeney is an awesome teacher. He really likes what he teaches and makes it obvious by the way he teaches. He makes the effort to learn everyone's names, which I think is SO refreshing. And he'll help you any time you need it. I really reccommend him to everyone. He's awesome.

This guy is absolutly amazing! He loves what he teaches and has this way of teaching that makes a subject as boring as geology into a class you love. Most classes I would remember what I had to and then forget it all after the test but not this class. Feeney teaches in a way that you remember everything he has talked about. I got so much out of this class that I never thought possible! I wish every one of my profs. were half as good as what he is.

I highly recommend Dr. Feeney. I took this class as a night class and he made it as enjoyable as possible! He is genuinely concerned with his students' well being and always makes time if you need help. You do a number of labs, but you don't have to do a practical (which is a blessing!). The labs really help to bring your grade up! There are three exams that are multiple choice. Definately take this prof sometime during your time at Ship!

Feeny is an awesome prof. I wouldn't take any other teacher for geology. There is 3 tests, non of them being cumulative, and that is including the final. He also gives about 5 quizzes but lets you know ahead of time and about 10 labs. Overall pretty easy!

Prof. Feeney is very intelligent. In my opinion, he is probably one of the better teachers at this university. He may go a little fast with his information, however, if you stick with him you will certainly walk away from this class with a good understanding of the topics.

This professor is the best I have ever experienced in my career as a student. All you have to do is sit in class and take notes, and he teaches the material to you extremely well. Something about the way he teaches allows the material to soak in better than any other subject. Highly recommended!

Dr. Feeney is a good prof. He tries to get to know you real well. He knows he stuff about soils. The class is very dry and boring, but he tries his hardest to make it interesting and he succeeds. The class has 3 tests, a final and then about 5 or 6 labs depending on how much time he has in the semester. The labs are pretty easy, the write-ups are kind of hard. The tests have no multiple choice becasue he says this is 200 level class not a 100 level class. Good Prof.

I took this course as a requirement for my major as I had no true desire for Soils in general. I had a 3.0 before taking this class and I knew the routine for study and prep for college courses, but his class is very different from your standard course. The labs are very easy and can be done in an hour or so if you work on a team, lecture is soils so you can probably guess what that's like. But the tests are where this class takes a major turn for the worst. He gives out only short-answer/essay questions, and they cover EVERYTHING. I say that because with normal classes, the instructor would vary with levels of importance and therefore how much you'd see on the test, but he really does want you to know everything in detail and he takes off if you don't have everything EXACTLY how he wants it. That might not be a problem except he goes on rants and tangents in class so you never really know what those specific key words are that he's looking for. If you have to take his class as a requirement, good luck. If there's another way around, TAKE IT!!!

Professor Feeney is a really nice guy who tries to make rocks really exciting. Although easy for a lab course, I really had no interest. He repeats himself constantly and doesn't seem to understand if rocks are not your passion, like they are his. I studied for all the exams because they are pretty tricky. Your grade relies on about 7 labs and 3 exams.

Dr. Feeney was a really nice guy who made Geology fairly easy to understand. He talks a lot but mostly about the same stuff over and over again, mostly to get the point across. His tests aren't that difficult and his final in hard but not too hard.

Feeney has a lot of positive comments, but the truth is, he's really not as easy as people make him out to be. Dont get me wrong, he's very nice, and makes this science course as funny as rocks can actually be, but his tests are some what tricky, and you can easily screw up on them. I studied for all the tests, but really he only gives three, and if you mess up on one of them and do okay on the second, you better bust your ass on the final or your screwed..
